Markdale, ON – With its half a century history, Chapman’s 2L boxed ice cream is known and loved by generations of Canadians. This year, their longtime freezer staple is getting a fresh new look.
In celebration of Chapman’s 50th anniversary, the company headed back to their roots by incorporating the image of the original creamery in Markdale, Ontario, into the packaging design. This traditional Canadian product has a new name… Markdale Creamery!
“With this initiative we proudly celebrate our history and heritage. Community is an important pillar of the Chapman’s brand, and the new product line name pays homage to our small village of Markdale,” said Ashley Chapman, COO of Chapman’s.
Chapman’s fans have nothing to fear as the traditional taste of the creamy ice cream will not change. The company keeps all the original recipes untouched, as well as the wide assortment of 15 delectable flavours.
The line will also continue to be allergy friendly with gluten free, peanut free, nut free, and the new egg free designation. Markdale Creamery ice cream is produced in Chapman’s nut free manufacturing facility. The commitment to allergen-free products can be traced back to 1999, when Chapman’s started making North America’s first peanut/nut free ice cream.
Chapman’s Ice Cream was established in 1973 with its premier product line; black two-liter boxes filled with the original recipe that set the foundation for the company’s long-term success.
Consumers can expect to see the new packaging on store shelves in early 2023. Whether you slice it, scoop it, or eat it straight out of the box (we don’t judge!), boxes of Markdale Creamery ice cream will fill home freezers and happy bellies for years to come! “I think it’s awesome that you’ve incorporated the name of your community to your outstanding product line. There’s a lot to be proud of,” commented Sherley Smith, one of the longstanding customers on Chapman’s social media.
“Peanut-free and egg-free means we can have this treat freely in our home with allergies. So appreciated!!!” said Katheryn Ewart on Facebook.
“…I truly appreciate that you haven’t shrunk the 2L size,” said Debbie Schmidt.
